PATENT INTEREST GROUP
The Patent Interest Group provides both education and connection between members of the State Bar Intellectual Property Section who live and work in the world of patents. The Patent Interest Group enables our membership throughout California to hear qualified and unique speakers, hold discussions on relevant topics and learn through structured presentations.
The Patent Interest Group holds in-person meeting and provides teleconferences with access to dynamic speakers on topics of interest to patent practitioners. In November at the IP Institute, the Patent Interest Group held a general meeting for prospective new members. On August 19, the group hosted a program "Octane Fitness & Highmark – The Supreme Court Eases the Standard for Recovering Attorney’s Fees in Patent Cases" presented by Sarah Brooks. The group is working with planning of a program entitled the EPO Comes to California scheduled for June of 2015. Past CLE programs are available for viewing on-line through the State Bar website. Notice of the content for future meetings will be provided in Inevitable Disclosures, a bi-monthly email newsletter provided from the State Bar IP Section.
