RECENT AMENDMENTS TO THE JAPANESE TRADEMARK ACT
Amendments to the Japanese Trademark Act to be effectuated on April 1, 2015 will provide for the protection of (1) sounds, (2) colors per se, (3) animations, (4) holograms and (5) positions as trademarks. The following examples of foreign registrations will become eligible in Japan:
