The California Lawyers Association is committed to ensuring equal access and participation for people with disabilities. Accessibility is the concept that people with disabilities are able to independently and timely access and use a product or system, including with the benefit of assistive technologies. Assistive technologies include adaptive hardware and/or software and other devices that are used to increase, maintain,or improve the functional capabilities of individuals with disabilities.
We continually seek to ensure existing, new, and updated web content produced by our organization meets the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C’s) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 Level AA conformance. The guidelines and success criteria of WCAG 2.0 Level AA are organized around the following four principles, which lay the foundation for users with disabilities to access and use web content:
- Perceivable – Information and user interface components must be presentable to users in ways they can perceive.
- Operable – User interface components and navigation must be operable.
- Understandable – Information and the operation of user interface must be understandable.
- Robust – Content must be robust enough that it can be interpreted reliably by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies.
