CLA Yoga Series: Creating calm, clarity, and confidence using Yoga’s Science of Mind
Stress, overwhelm, anxiety, and distraction. These are just a few of the ruinous enemies of peak productivity—and professional and personal success. Unfortunately, these internal saboteurs have become so commonplace that most of us accept them as a normal and necessary cost of doing business. But here’s what you need to know: they can be stopped in their tracks.

Town Hall: Losing Our [Best] Minds
In 2020, the California Lawyers Association (CLA) and the D.C. Bar announced their participation in a groundbreaking research project conducted by attorney mental health and well-being expert Patrick Krill and Dr. Justin Anker. The first phase of findings from the study, “Stress, drink, leave: An examination of gender-specific risk factors for mental health problems and attrition among licensed attorneys”, was released in 2021 shedding light on the disparate experiences of women practitioners.
#WellbeingWeekInLaw: Preventing Injury
To kick off 2023 Well-being Week In Law, let’s focus on our physical well-being. Join us for a free virtual presentation from Performance Coach, Tom Legath, about injury prevention. Attendees will learn why injuries happen (which are often avoidable). Tom will help attendees improve their ability to listen to their body's messages about muscle and joint health so that they can make better training choices. The information will give attendees an opportunity to improve the results they get from their training and it will give them an opportunity to implement strategies to avoid future injury so they can play longer into life.
#WellbeingWeekInLaw: How to Bust Your Inner Critic and Create an Inner Ally
The second day of #WellbeingWeekInLaw prompts us to focus on our emotional well-being, fostering a sense of meaning and purpose in how we apply ourselves. If you’re human, then you have at least one voice in your head that chimes in on everything you do or want to do. Sometimes the voices are enjoyable. And other times, not so much. The negative self-talk that plagues the mind of every person on the planet can be painful, and crippling. Left unchecked, this voice will sabotage every endeavor you’ll ever pursue. It will try to sabotage your career, relationships, health and ruin your opportunities, and leave you wondering what could have been.
#WellbeingWeekInLaw: Define Your Style
The third day of #WellbeingWeekInLaw prompts us to engage and grow by focusing on occupational and intellectual well-being. Fashion is a form of expression and communication. By defining your personal style you can get dressed faster and show up with full confidence each day (in your personal and professional lives)! During this presentation you will identify your style words, learn how to use them when shopping, styling and editing your wardrobe, and lastly, learn how to create your style vision board!
We are committed to accessibility! Virtual events are equipped with closed captioning. To request an in-person accommodation, send us a note at accessibility@calawyers.org or contact us at 916-516-1760 for assistance.
