To kick off 2023 Well-being Week In Law, let’s focus on our physical well-being. Join us for a free virtual presentation from Performance Coach, Tom Legath, about injury prevention. Attendees will learn why injuries happen (which are often avoidable). Tom will help attendees improve their ability to listen to their body's messages about muscle and joint health so that they can make better training choices. The information will give attendees an opportunity to improve the results they get from their training and it will give them an opportunity to implement strategies to avoid future injury so they can play longer into life. |

The second day of #WellbeingWeekInLaw prompts us to focus on our emotional well-being, fostering a sense of meaning and purpose in how we apply ourselves. If you’re human, then you have at least one voice in your head that chimes in on everything you do or want to do. Sometimes the voices are enjoyable. And other times, not so much. The negative self-talk that plagues the mind of every person on the planet can be painful, and crippling. Left unchecked, this voice will sabotage every endeavor you’ll ever pursue. It will try to sabotage your career, relationships, health and ruin your opportunities, and leave you wondering what could have been. |

In 2018, former Governor Jerry Brown created a special unit within the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation to identify people in prison who had rehabilitated themselves so much that they would be “an asset to their community” if released. Since then, around 2,000 people have been referred under this process. District Attorneys’ Offices throughout California have similarly recommended people in prison for resentencing. During this one hour presentation, learn about this rapidly-developing area of law, obtain practice tips, and hear about inspiring success stories. |
