INTERNATIONAL INTEREST GROUP
The International Interest Group focuses on various aspects of international law within the practice of intellectual property. We partner with the other interest groups to host seminars on important legal developments and the impact of international laws on our domestic practices.
This year, the International Interest Group welcomes Rebecca Chen of SUGIMURA International Patent & Trademark Attorneys as the new Chair. As SUGIMURA’s Foreign Counsel Liaison, Ms. Chen leads the firm’s business development and client relations within North America, South America, and Europe. Working with the firm’s Japanese patent attorneys, she consults clients on Japanese IP matters, keeping them up-to-date with current IP issues. Ms. Chen is active in the IP community and serves as the delegate for the California State Bar, IP Section on the JPO/US Bar Liaison Council and as the Co-Chair of the Corporate Patent Seminar. Prior to joining SUGIMURA, Ms. Chen gained experience working in the legal department of an international software company in Minneapolis, USA and at law firms in New York, USA and Beijing, China.
