Letter from the Chair
Matthew J. Spark
Zuber, Lawler & Del Duca, LLP
DWAR SECTION MEMBER:
It’s hard to believe that this is my last letter to you as your Section’s Chair. It has been an exciting year that started with the IP Law Section separating from The State Bar of California (State Bar) and, along with our sister Sections, forming the California Lawyers Association (CLA). At the conclusion of CLA’s First Annual Meeting (September 14-15 in San Diego), I will transition into the role of Immediate-Past-Chair and your other current officers, Vice-Chair Thomas Hassing and Secretary Heather Antoine, will become, respectively, your new Chair and Vice-Chair. You are in excellent hands. At the recent Long Range Planning meeting of your Executive Committee, Sanjesh Sharma was elected to be your incoming Secretary, and she will also take office at the conclusion of the Annual Meeting. Sanjesh has been actively involved in our Section for many years, and is extremely well qualified for this new leadership role that will eventually lead to her becoming Chair of this Section. It has been my honor and privilege to work with Tom, Heather, and Sanjesh, as well as the many other fine individuals who serve in the various positions on our Executive Committee and in our Interest Groups that keep our Section functioning, and I’d like to thank them all for the time they dedicate to the IP Law Section.
