Workers' Compensation

The Workers’ Compensation Quarterly

Recognizing that many practitioners are working from home, rather than their office and not receiving their regular mail due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the Workers’ Compensation Executive Committee is offering its members an electronic version of The Workers’ Compensation Quarterly.  This edition of The Quarterly features a comprehensive assessment by the Honorable Raymond Correio (Retired Workers’ Compensation Judge) of issues of liability for the coronavirus under California Workers’ Compensation Law; and article on artificial intelligence and workers’ compensation claims administration by Mark Webb, a look at issues of temporary disability liability when modified work ends due to the COVID-19 pandemic by James Rossi; an in depth analysis by Barry W. Ponticello and Renee C. St. Clair of the WCAB En Banc decision in Sandab Suon regarding medical-legal communications and record review; and finally a must read for any practitioner handling Uninsured Employer Benefit Trust Fund cases by the Honorable Daniel Dobrin providing a practical approach to avoid the ten most common mistakes in a UEBTF Joinder Petition. The print version of this issue of the Quarterly will be available as well soon. The electronic version can be accessed with the link below:
