SSF Friends,
The clock has sprung forward which means that Spring is just around the corner and with it, COVID-19, now famously known as the Corona Virus pandemic. Phrases like social distancing are now forever part of our vocabulary.
Government, businesses, schools, restaurants, courts are all closed and all California Lawyer Association and SSF events cancelled. This is a completely unprecedented and difficult time for all. During this uncertain time, it is important to remember we are all in this together. It is also important to remember that there are people, especially the elderly and those with immune suppressing illnesses that are in a completely different level of risk and are in great need. Many are afraid to go out for fear of contracting the virus, while others are afraid of the huge and aggressive crowds in the stores that remain open for us to pick up our essentials. So if you are heading out to the store, ask that neighbor if you can pick items up for them. If you feel comfortable doing so and are healthy, consider helping agencies like Meals on Wheels deliver to those persons who can’t afford or can’t physically get food for themselves.
For solo small firm attorneys, many of us already have offices that are designed to be mobile and social distancing is not a problem. We are pros at being adaptable. However, if you need information about tech that can assist you and your office, how to set up video conferencing, or how to make your home your new office, we are here for you. Check out our website, our issues of The Practitioner, webinars and even our podcasts to learn what tools are available and may work to keep your practice up and running.
Pulling together we can all get through this Spring safe, healthy and with our businesses and communities intact. #WeareSSF
