PATENT INTEREST GROUP
The Patent Interest Group (IG) provides both education and connection between members of the State Bar Intellectual Property Section who live and work in the world of patents. The Patent IG meets regularly, enabling our membership throughout California to hear qualified and unique speakers, hold discussions on relevant topics and learn through structured presentations.
The Patent IG also holds teleconferences providing access to dynamic speakers on topics of interest to patent practitioners. In January of 2015, the group hosted "Old Bias Learning New Tricks in New Media: an IP and Privacy Overview" offering 1 hour in Elimination of Bias MCLE credit. In February the group hosted a program entitled "The post-Alice/CLS Bank jurisprudence – How the Supreme Court has altered the way courts are reviewing and deciding Section 101 patent challenges." These programs are available on-line at the State Bar website. Notice of the content for future meetings will be provided in Inevitable Disclosures, a bi-monthly email newsletter provided from the State Bar IP Section.
