The webinar will be a general discussion of the basic U.S. and California income tax rules that apply to nonresident aliens, including determining when a person is a U.S. or California resident for U.S. federal and California income tax purposes. In addition, the discussion will center on the kinds of U.S. and California-source income that is subject to tax in the hands of nonresident aliens, and tax planning strategies that can be implemented in connection therewith (including the effect of income tax treaties on residency issues and substantive income tax issues.)
