The Power of the Bar: Fueling CLF’s Impact and Call to Action

January 2025

Jeremy Evans
President, California Lawyers Foundation

I am probably not the first person to say to you, “Welcome to 2025!” In fact, I am shouting it, because a New Year brings with it new opportunity, and as President of California Lawyers Foundation (CLF), I am pleased to share several significant updates about our fundraising and outreach initiatives.

For those of you not familiar with CLF, we are the non-profit arm of CLA. Each year, we conduct charitable programs, projects, and activities which help equalize the rule of law. We have three major initiatives already underway in 2025:

CLF Classic Fairways to Justice Golf Tournament and Fundraiser

We are thrilled to announce our inaugural mentorship and charity golf tournament, benefiting the California Legal Pathways Collaborative. This program educates high school and college students about civics and engagement, encouraging them to pursue legal careers. Join your colleagues at the iconic Pelican Hill Golf Club and Resort in Newport Coast, California on April 17, 2025, for a relaxing day on the green where your philanthropy  directly benefits the future of law. Founding Fifty

The Founding Fifty comprises the first 50 donors who contribute $10,000 or more to support CLF’s initiatives. Members of this distinguished group play a significant role in enabling CLF to fulfill its mission.

“The Foundation is a very special organization that has the power and membership of CLA behind it,” says Heather L. Rosing, Founding Partner at Rosing, Pott & Strohbehn, LLP and Past President, California Lawyers Association and California Lawyers Foundation. “I support CLF because I believe our statewide bar can do so much good in helping strengthen our judicial branch and delivering justice for all.”

Dedan Brozino, President, Rose Bowl Legacy Foundation, and Chief Development Officer for the Rose Bowl Stadium shares that, “The Rose Bowl Legacy Foundation supports the California Lawyers Foundation because of its unwavering commitment to aligning the rule of law with educational components throughout this great state to ensure continued growth in creating a fair and just society for all.”

We are grateful to those who have already made the commitment to this unique, one-time opportunity which will make a lasting impact. For more information on joining the Founding Fifty, please contact us at: info@calawyersfoundation.org.

This collective effort can lead to substantial contributions, furthering our mission to enhance access to justice and legal education throughout the state.
