California Lawyers Association
Section Membership Growth Competition
Are you up to the challenge? No? Ready for action? Still, no? Okay, do you want to take home a first place finish and watch as people walk past your shiny award for an entire year?! There. It. Is!
California Lawyers Association (CLA) will launch its New Member Growth Competition on February 1, 2025. Yes, CLA is 45,000 members strong, but to further reflect the incredible diversity which makes the legal profession in California exceptional, the organization is working to expand its reach in 2025.
Whoever said lawyers were competitive was right. In the courtroom. Negotiating a contract. On the pickleball court. Here’s your opportunity to compete against your colleagues as a friendly way to be involved, and most importantly, to grow the organization and continue to drive its reputation forward as a notable, trustworthy, and highly successful volunteer Bar Association.
“Talk to colleagues, approach someone new at your firm, and think about others within California’s legal community,” suggests CEO Chris Nguyen. “From lawyers to judges to accounting firms and HR professionals specializing in the legal space, this is an opportunity to think about when you first joined CLA and to support others in their careers.”
There are two ways which Sections can win the competition:
- Highest Growth by Percentage: The section with the largest percentage increase in membership.
- Highest Growth by Headcount: The section that recruits the most new members overall.
The complete rules will be published in late January. A webpage will provide tracking and updates on the friendly competition.
Chief Member Experience Officer, Nicole Stragalas, explains the concept. “We are putting a bit of creativity into the New Member Campaign. The goal to expand CLA is certainly positive and consequential as a leader among volunteer Bar Associations in the country. But we also think we can have a bit of fun, too.”
Look for more information about the competition over the new few weeks. Good luck to all of the Sections as we connect, lead, and achieve in 2025.
