HIGHLIGHT ON LITIGATION PRACTICE AREA COMMITTEE

By Jonathan Golding

The Real Property Law Section of the California Lawyers Association has organized Practice Area Committees (PACs) to focus on specific areas of real property law.  Each month, E-News will highlight a different PAC.

This month we are highlighting the Litigation PAC.  The Litigation PAC is dedicated to providing education and assistance to attorneys who practice in the many facets of real estate litigation.  Through its volunteer Members, the Litigation PAC generates webinars, journal articles, e-news blurbs and other communications geared to keeping the Members of the Real Property Law Section up to date on cutting edge cases and statutes that impact litigation.  Recent developments include:

Geoffrey Murry is writing a Real Property Journal article on Equitable Easements and Irrevocable Licenses based on the Hershfeld v. Schwartz line of cases.  That article will be a “must read” for anyone who handles easement litigation.

Marie Wood published an E-News Article on Lis Pendens.  She also published an E-News Article regarding Quiet Title.  In addition, she is coordinating a Journal Article with The Hon. Craig G. Riemer of the Riverside Superior Court.

Jonathan Golding is developing a webinar relating to Investigation and Discovery in Real Estate and Construction Cases.  Please keep a lookout for that webinar.  No date has been set yet.

The Real Property Law Section thanks the dedicated Members who keep the Litigation PAC on mission.  Those Members are (in alphabetical order):  Jonathan Golding of Golding + Lamothe (Chair), Nancy B. Goldstein of the Law Office of Nancy B. Goldstein, Louis A. Gonzalez, Jr. of Weintraub Tobin Chediak Coleman & Grodin Law Corporation, Shailendra (Shay) U. Kulkarne of Sullivan Hill Rez & Engel, Kenneth R. Lynch of Lynch Law Group, Geoffrey Murry of Ad Astra Law Group, LLP, Heather Stern of Parker Ibrahim & Berg LLP, Marie E. Wood of Reid & Hellyer, APC, and Kyle E. Yaege of Hickman Robinson Yaege, LLP.  The Litigation PAC also welcomes a new Member, Mark A. Gomez of Gomez & Simone, APLC.  We appreciate the skill and hard work you bring to the Litigation PAC.
