Message from the Chair Scott Stillman
I am happy to announce that we’ve extended the application deadline to become a member of our Section’s Executive Committee. The new deadline is April 15, 2023.
If you were teetering on the brink of applying or just thinking about it now for the first time, I highly encourage you to apply! As a member of the ExCom, you’ll join a group of fabulous labor and employment lawyers from across California who are dedicated to providing diverse educational opportunities and perspectives regarding labor and employment issues to our Section members, to the bar, and to the general public.
I have been a member of the ExCom since 2017 and one of the main reasons I applied in the first place and have continued with the committee is: this is such a great group of people to work with! Our ExCom consists of lawyers from all segments of the labor and employment bar: plaintiff-side, defense-side, investigators, mediators and arbitrators, government lawyers, union and management attorneys, etc.
With all that diversity in opinion, our success relies on collegiality and cooperation, which creates a friendly and welcoming environment where you can easily build relationships and make connections. So, by joining the ExCom, not only will you have the chance to expand your knowledge and expertise, and shape the many great programs we provide, but you will also be able to network and collaborate with other legal professionals who share your interests and values of collegiality. This is a great opportunity for any lawyer with a passion for our field of Labor and Employment law!
