Message from the Chair Erich Shiners

I hope you, your family, and friends are healthy and safe as we face together the new challenges COVID-19 has brought to our daily lives. CLA has an outstanding collection of resources available for navigating through the pandemic. These include free webinars and court updates for attorneys, and free videos for the public on legal issues related to COVID-19. I want to thank Section Executive Committee Members Tom Lenz, Hina Shah, and Monica Guizar for stepping up on short notice to produce videos in English and Spanish for workers and employers about their rights and available benefits during this pandemic. We also are collaborating with other Sections on webinars covering COVID-19 issues that cross over with labor and employment law. The collaborative spirit of the Sections during this time bodes well for continued partnerships in the post-pandemic world.

We’re working to bring some of the presentations from our cancelled Public Sector Conference and Section Annual Meeting to you online. Although we can’t have the personal interaction that is a key component of our in-person events, I’m glad we’re able to provide the content of those programs to you remotely. Take care and stay safe!
