State Bar Program Seeks Special Deputy Trial Counsel
The Administrator of the State Bar Special Deputy Trial (SDTC) program is seeking lawyers to help handle attorney discipline cases where the State Bar Office of Chief Trial Counsel has a conflict of interest.
Serving part-time under contract to the State Bar’s Office of General Counsel, attorneys in the SDTC program review, investigate and, where necessary, prosecute disciplinary violations in State Bar Court. The program is governed by Rule 2201 of the State Bar Rules of Procedure.
The State Bar looks for attorneys with experience in legal ethics and familiarity with the Rules of Professional Conduct and the State Bar Act. Attorneys who serve as SDTCs may not represent lawyers in the State Bar discipline process.
