Diverse Voices Needed for Video Project
In 2020, CLA’s Diversity Outreach Advisory Committee (DOC) launched a new video project, Diverse Voices of the Legal Profession, to share the stories of diverse legal practitioners with young people in the interest of inspiring and encouraging them to consider a future as a legal professional. We are looking to continue this video series with legal professionals who identify with any group which has been historically underrepresented among the legal community.
Participants will be provided a brief script with four or five questions to answer along with some general instruction and tips. Each video is intended to be short, about five minutes or so, and will be recorded using ubiquitous tools like smartphones and/or Zoom by the speaker (with or without assistance from staff). The recordings will then be edited by staff and made available for viewing on CLA’s YouTube channel.
Please reach out to CLA’s Initiatives Manager, Lauren Oakley, to learn more about what is involved and/or to sign up to participate. If you have any colleagues who you think might be interested in participating we ask you to please make them aware of the opportunity. With your help, we can empower diverse youth and show them that they can do anything including (but not limited to) becoming legal professionals.
