The Solo and Small Firm Section kicked off the year at the State Bar Annual Meeting where we welcomed our new executive committee members, Steve, Glenn, and Renee and thanked our outgoing members, Robert, Janet, and Brooke, as well as our outgoing advisors, Jim and Richard, and our past Chair, Shirish. As those on the Solo and Small Firm Executive Committee know, you never really leave our committee, you simply change subcommittees. One of our member-advisors, Janet Brewer, has gone on to become a member of the Board of Trustees and one of our long time and much-loved advisors, Richard Kaplan, has left due to the demands of being on the leadership track at the Beverly Hills Bar. We wish them both heart-felt congratulations!
We are currently designing a half-day CLE program focusing on updates in the law. It will take place on Thursday, January 22nd at the Los Angeles State Bar Offices in downtown L.A.. The program will offer the hard-to-find ethics and bias units and feature lunch sponsored by Arnie Morton’s Steakhouse. Please stay tuned for registration information. For our members in the Bay Area, a similar program will run at the San Francisco State Bar Offices on July 24, 2015.
