LITIGATION INTEREST GROUP
The Litigation Interest Group spans all the substantive IP law issues, with a focus on advocacy and presentation of those issues before various administrative and judicial forums. We hold quarterly business meetings to allow full participation by interested IG members and put on we-binar programs either separately or in conjunction with other interest groups. The Litigation Interest Group will sponsor a webinar midyear for all Section members on "Patent DisputesâEarly Knockout Blows at the PTAB and in Court." The program will focus on early strategies in both federal court and PTAB proceedings to block adversaries. Motions to dismiss in federal court and refusals by the PTAB to allow institution of proceedings will be explored.
The IG’s April program featured retired judge and JAMS mediator, James Kleinberg. He spoke on "70 (or so) Courtroom Tips and Tools."
