Letter from the Chair
SOPHIE COHEN Cobalt LLP
Dear Fellow Section Members,
THIS IS MY FINAL LECTER AS SECTION CHAIR. It has been an honor and a true pleasure serving you this past term. You will be in excellent hands when Vice-Chair Deborah Greaves becomes Chair at the close of the State Bar Annual Meeting in October, together with her fellow officers Elizabeth Rest (incoming Vice-Chair) and Matthew Spark (incoming Secretary).
There have been more rewarding and instructive experiences in my time as Chair than I can recount here. If I have to pick one, I must say I have especially enjoyed the direct input from members of the Section. Each month, I receive several emails and Linkedin messages from practitioners, law students, and academics from all over California (and the country) with ideas for programs, offers to volunteer, input on IP law developments, and questions about how to become involved or develop a career in IP law. Keep these messages coming! They are crucial to the Section being able to offer the programming, networking events, and community discussions members find most valuable.
