The Environmental Law Section is here for you! I hope those who attended the SOLD OUT 2023 Environmental Law Conference at Yosemite® feel updated, inspired, and refreshed. The ELS planning committee did such a fantastic job planning the panels, the afternoon hikes, and the evening events. A special thank you to our conference speakers for volunteering their time and expertise and to the generous sponsors for your support. The Section has already started preparing for the 2024 conference. The ELS website will be updated soon seeking panel topics and speaker ideas. Please mark your calendars for the 2024 Environmental Law Conference at Yosemite®âSeptember 12-15!
ELS is excited to plan for three additional in-person conferences for 2024. This Spring, ELS will hold the Energy Conference. The Sierra Water Summit and Diversity Conference will also be returning. Dates will be announced. If you are interested in volunteering on either of these planning committees, please contact us at environmental@calawyers.org.
The ELS Diversity & Inclusion Fellowship application deadline ended on October 30, 2023. ELS is seeking governmental agencies and public interest organizations whose work involves environment, environmental justice, energy, land use, and/or resources law and who may be interested in hosting a Diversity & Inclusion Fellow over the summer of 2024. If your agency or organization would like to learn more about participation in the program, please email the name of the agency or organization, and the name, phone number and email address of a contact person to Pam Amundsen, Section Manager, at environmental@calawyers.org.
