MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR
Happy New Year! It is my privilege and honor to serve as Chair of the Criminal Law Section for the 2020-2021 bar year! Since joining the committee, I have had the honor to work with some incredibly gifted judges and attorneys. To our immediate past chair, Leif Dautch, thank you for your service and ongoing commitment to the section. I would like to welcome our new members to the executive committee: Bryant Estep, Amyra Cobb Hampton, Eddie Jauregui, Kevin Lally, Armando Pastran and Basil Williams. They are a dynamic group of lawyers and we are lucky to have them! Have you ever thought about applying to become a member of the executive committee? If so, the time is now! The deadline to submit your application is March 1, 2021, the application can be found here: https://calawyers.org/cla/appointment-process/ This edition of the Criminal Law Journal is dedicated to co-editor, Lani Biafore, who retired in December. She has been a member of the executive committee since 2009 and has served as co-editor of the Criminal Law Journal since that time.
