This program will address how to preserve issues for appeal in state civil cases. Two appellate attorneys will discuss how to preserve the record at various stages of litigation to protect your client’s appellate rights, and they will address common mistakes that lead to forfeiture of issues on appeal. The goal of the program is to provide a better understanding of the importance of protecting the record in the trial court and how to do so. 2024 California International Arbitration Week

The 2024 California International Arbitration Week (CIAW) celebrates international arbitration in California. CIAW is presented by the California Lawyers Association Litigation Section with California Arbitration (CalArb), and includes leading arbitral institutions and organizations from around the world. The 2024 CIAW will be in person March 11-14, 2024, in San Francisco, California, at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco (Embarcadero Center) and also streamed and available on demand for 30 days.

This webinar will introduce attendees to three of the newly appointed Justices on the California Court of Appeal: Justices Rashida Adams (2d Dist., Div. 3), Daniel Bromberg (6th Dist.), and Danny Chou (1st Dist., Div. 5). The new Justices on the panel will answer questions from the moderator and from the audience regarding a wide variety of topics, including their experience so far on the bench; their approach to judging; their career paths that led them to become Court of Appeal Justices; and advice they would give to attorneys practicing before the Court of Appeal.
