Are You An A Through G Needing MCLE? Our Education Packages Will Ease You Mind & Your Wallet

March 2025

The MCLE deadline is rapidly approaching! All active California State Bar licensees, whose last names begin with the letters A through G, must report their Minimum Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) compliance no later than April 1, 2025, by submitting a statement of compliance to the State Bar. It is important to note, that specific credits in such areas as Recognition and Elimination of Bias, Prevention and Detection Competence, Technology in the Practice of Law, and Legal Ethics are mandatory, as part of the 25 required hours.

To help its members fulfill these MCLE requirements, California Lawyers Association (CLA) offers a wide range of educational programs available to all attorneys, including live webinars, on-demand webinars, and podcasts. CLA’s law specialty Sections have developed individual packages, each containing five educational program modules, making it simple for all attorneys to meet their MCLE needs. These packages provide a sample of the incredible knowledge base the members representing each CLA Section has in their legal fields. In addition to the specialized bundles, CLA is also offering a Specialty Credit Package that when taken, will fulfill all Specialty Credit Requirements.

“Completing twenty-five hours of MCLE every three years may not seem difficult to accomplish, but sometimes deadlines can sneak up on busy professionals,” says Nicole Stragalas, CLA Chief Member Experience Officer (CMEO). “CLA and it’s Section Leaders have worked hard to provide an array of interesting MCLE packages to make it simple and highly cost effective for our members to meet the deadline.”

As a benefit to CLA members, the Packages are being offered at an incredible discount. Non-members may also purchase the Educational Bundle Packages, which remains an excellent value, but are encouraged to take advantage of the membership pricing by joining CLA. These programs are unique to the organization and not offered anywhere else.

“CLA has incredible educational programming throughout the year,” says CLA Section Team Leader, Julia Byrd. “We have thousands of online and in-person programs which meet MCLE requirements. Attorneys who are not members of CLA should definitely consider joining our organization. We offer so many opportunities to network and connect, in addition to an array of tangible cost saving benefits.”

The range of programs is as diverse as the association’s 18 law specialty practice Sections themselves. For example, CLA’s Business Law Section has included a program titled, “Are You and Your Clients Paying Enough Attention to Cyber-Security Risk?”  A presentation on, “Picking Your Peers: Jury Selection in State and Federal Court,” is offered by the Criminal Law Section. “How to Make a Name for Your Small Firm,” is included in the Solo and Small Firm Package. “Stress – Your Brain Screaming ‘Pay Attention’ and How that Can Help You,” is featured by the Real Property Section, and “Eliminating Gender Bias,” is one of five programs put on by CLA’s International Law and Immigration Section.

There are a total of 90 educational programs included in the 19 Educational Bundle Packages, giving attorneys in every area of legal practice a wide array of subject matter to select from and complete.
