10 Reasons to Attend the 33rd Annual Golden State Institute

October 2023

By Lee Brand

California Lawyers Association’s Antitrust and Unfair Competition Law Section is proud to present the 2023 Golden State Antitrust & Unfair Competition Law Institute (GSI) on October 26 at the Julia Morgan Ballroom in San Francisco.

This is the Section’s marquee event and brings together thought leaders from across the private plaintiff and defense bar, the judiciary, academia and economic consulting, and federal, state, and local government. GSI is also an excellent opportunity for new lawyers and law students to get more involved in the Section and its work. The full-day conference features various sessions on important topics in California and federal antitrust and unfair competition law, followed by a cocktail reception and dinner honoring the California Antitrust Lawyer of the Year. And GSI sponsorship opportunities are still available!

Here are 10 reasons not to miss this year’s GSI:

  • Catch up on recent developments in antitrust and unfair competition law.
  • Hear about the big stakes FTC v. Meta trial from the attorneys who litigated it.
  • Find out how California is revising our state antitrust laws.
  • See our special keynote speaker (TBA soon!).
  • Learn how artificial intelligence is impacting competition law.
  • Listen to judges discuss how they manage complex antitrust and UCL cases.
  • Brush up on ethical considerations in complex antitrust litigation (and earn specialty MCLE credit!).
  • Engage with colleagues and friends during our cocktail reception.
  • Talk to our Executive Committee about how to get more involved with the Section.
  • Honor the Department of Justice’s Bonny Sweeney as Antitrust Lawyer of the Year.

Visit the GSI website for more details and to register.
