

Antitrust Lawyer of the Year Award
Each year, the Antitrust and Unfair Competition Law Section honors an Antitrust Lawyer of the Year at a dinner that follows the annual Golden State Antitrust and Unfair Competition Law Institute. The award acknowledges that attorney’s achievements, contributions, and advancements in the field of antitrust and unfair competition law.

The Antitrust and Consumer Protection Section of the California Lawyers Association is pleased to honor Thomas Naif Dahdouh as the 2025 Antitrust Lawyer of the Year. He has dedicated his career to public enforcement of federal antitrust, consumer protection and privacy laws. For 33 years at the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), he has sought to protect the American public by pursuing fair competition, shaping policy, and mentoring the next generation.
In 2024, Tom was awarded the FTC’s Robert Pitofsky Lifetime Achievement Award. Tom was most recently Attorney Advisor to FTC Chair Lina M. Khan. Prior to that, he served as Regional Director of the Western Regional Office (Los Angeles and San Francisco Offices), from 2013 to 2019, and Regional Director of the Western Region San Francisco Office from 2020 to 2021. Before those positions, he served as an Attorney Advisor to two FTC Commissioners in the 1990’s and Counsel to Bureau of Competition Director William Baer, and a staff attorney for many years in the San Francisco office before becoming Regional Director. Tom joined the FTC in 1992, after having clerked for Judge Irving R. Kaufman of the Second Circuit and Judge Michael B. Mukasey of the Southern District of New York, as well as working at Debevoise & Plimpton in New York. He earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School, and his B.A. at Yale. Read More
Antitrust And Unfair Competition Lawyers to Watch Award
Last year, the Antitrust and Unfair Competition Law Section launched a new award to recognize lawyers in the first eight years of their legal careers who have exhibited outstanding achievements in the practice of antitrust and unfair competition during the previous year. The Section was proud to give this recognition to five New Lawyers!
After this successful launch, the Antitrust and Unfair Competition Law Section is excited to once again seek applications for the New Lawyers to Watch award!

Consumer and Unfair Competition Law Award
The Antitrust and Unfair Competition Law Section is pleased to announce a new award to recognize outstanding achievements in the practice of consumer and unfair competition law.
The annual Consumer and Unfair Competition Law Award (CUCLA) will recognize the achievements of an attorney or team in a significant litigation or investigation, or in making another meaningful contribution to the development of consumer and unfair competition law.
