Real Property Law

Cal. Real. Prop. Journal VOL. 40, NO. 3, 2022

Written by Christopher B. Whitman Editor-in-Chief

Welcome to this joint issue of the Real Property Journal and Public Law Journal. It is exciting for us to offer the members of these two CLA sections this publication that highlights some of the interesting crossover topics that affect each of our sections.

In one article, Ryan Griffith explores how cities and counties can remediate nuisance properties using the receivership process, which is particularly relevant given the statewide housing shortage and the competitiveness of the residential housing market. In another article, Scott Smith, Matthew Richardson, and Ryan Stager provide an overview of First Amendment law and current municipal policies regarding the siting of flags and flag poles on property owned by public entities.

We hope you enjoy this joint issue and the topics it addresses, and we look forward to collaborating in the future.
