Message from the Chair

Bryan Schwartz is Chair of the State Bar of California’s Labor and Employment Law Section. His firm is Bryan Schwartz Law (www.BryanSchwartzLaw.com) in Oakland, representing workers in wage-and-hour, discrimination, harassment, whistleblower retaliation, and other types of individual, class, and multi-plaintiff actions in federal and state courts and a variety of administrative fora. He serves also on the boards of the California Employment Lawyers Association, Legal Aid at Work, and FAIR (www.fair-foundation.org), a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing diversity in the employment bar.
Better Communicating: Better for Us and Our Clients
We can do better in communicating with each other, regardless of whether we represent workers, employers, unions, management, government agencies, or non-profits or whether we serve as neutrals, professors, or jurists. And, we need to. California’s workplaces—its business owners and agency managers, its employees of every stripe—depend on us to communicate with each other, to solve problems together. The State Bar of California’s Labor & Employment Law Section helps.
