Ca. Int'l Law Journal 2019, VOL. 27, NO. 1

WELCOME FROM THE JOURNAL’S EDITOR-IN-CHIEF

Catherine (Cathy) Carlisle*

Editor-in-Chief

The past two years have been a time of great transformation for The California International Law Journal and for the International Law Section (ILS) as a whole. The ILS played an integral role in the former State Bar sections’ move to the California Lawyers Association (CLA), and used the transition as an opportunity to revisit our goals and reinvigorate our approach to serving our community. Now, as one of the most prominent and active sections of the CLA, the ILS has updated our programming and launched new initiatives for our members.

During this time, we have also revamped the Journal, revitalizing its design and content to make it more interesting and useful for our readers. The Journal, now over two decades old, was, from its beginnings, a well-respected publication in the field of international law. Our ILS readers consistently tell us that their free subscription to the Journal—a perk of ILS membership—is the most beneficial part of ILS. Likewise, our many other readers throughout the United States and around the globe say that the Journal is particularly helpful in their practices by providing insight into interesting aspects of international law they may otherwise not encounter.
