BLS Opinions Committee: Review of Current Developments for 2016
Richard N. Frasch and Peter S. Szurley
Richard Frasch is the current Vice Chair Social Media for the BLS Opinions Committee (2016-2017), Past Co Chair of the BLS Opinions Committee (2013-2015), Past Chair of the BLS Executive Committee (1991-1992), current member of the ABA Legal Opinions Committee, current member of Tribar Legal Opinions Committee.
As a partner in the firm’s Debt Finance Department, Peter Szurley represents major financial institutions, hedge funds and finance companies. He handles complex commercial financings of all kinds. He also works on domestic and cross-border transactions (particularly involving aircraft financings and sales). Peter co-chairs the Opinions Committee of the Business Law Section of the State Bar of California and he is a member of its Steering Committee.
The Opinions Committee (the "Opinions Committee") of the Business Law Section (the "BLS") has been busy during 2016 finalizing two opinion reports, participating in drafting projects with national opinion organizations, and setting up a new social media portal. Any member of the BLS can join the Opinions Committee by filling out an application form available on the BLS website: http://businesslaw.calbar.ca.gov/Standing-Committees/ Application.aspx. This article will summarize the status of each of the various projects.
