New Report on Third-Party Closing Opinions for California Limited Liability Companies and Partnerships About To Be Published

Ms. Weakley served as Co-Chair of the of the Working Group (composed of members or former members of the Partnerships and Limited Liability Companies Committee and the Opinions Committee of Business Law Section of the State Bar of California) responsible for preparation of the report that is the subject of this article. She is a Publications Attorney with Continuing Education of the Bar, part of the University of California, and a former chair of the Partnerships and Limited Liability Companies Committee.

Jim Fotenos is a partner of Greene Radovsky Maloney Share & Hennigh, LLP, San Francisco. He served as Co-Chair of the Working Group that drafted the LLC and Partnership Opinions Report and is Co-Chair of the Opinions Committee of the BLS. He is also a co-editor of In Our Opinion, the quarterly newsletter of the Legal Opinions Committee of the Business Law Section of the ABA.

The Partnerships and Limited Liability Companies Committee (the "PLLC Committee") and the Opinions Committee of the State Bar’s Business Law Section are pleased to announce that their report, Third-Party Closing Opinions: Limited Liability Companies and Partnerships (the "Report"), is now final and will soon be published by the State Bar of California. The Report, a joint undertaking of the PLLC Committee and the Opinions Committee (collectively, the "Committees"), updates and supersedes entirely the PLLC Committee’s 1998 Report on Legal Opinions Concerning California Partnerships and its 2000 Report on Legal Opinions Concerning California Limited Liability Companies (collectively, the "Prior Reports").
