Spotlight on Litigation Update

Litigation Update is a monthly publication with case summaries of recent state and federal appellate opinions. The cases are selected and the summaries drafted by Justice Eileen Moore of the Fourth District Court of Appeal, Division Three. The purpose of the publication is to keep you informed of significant cases in a timely fashion and to present this useful information in a manner that busy practitioners will enjoy reading. A notice of each new monthly edition is sent to all Litigation Section members via email together with the monthly Section newsletter, and the publication is posted online, where prior editions are also archived. 

After the killing of George Floyd, Litigation Update published a special edition consisting of a compilation of case summaries involving allegations of law enforcement use of excessive force to demonstrate the frequency and persistence of such issues arising in the courts over the years.
