IP Institute Sponsorship Opportunities
The Intellectual Property (“IP”) Law Section of the California Lawyers Association will host its 46th Annual IP Institute, November 3-5, 2022, at the Laguna Cliffs Hotel in sunny Dana Point, California. Our event is one of the nation’s premier IP conferences, offering access to top industry leaders and sessions, in a relaxed coastal atmosphere. It will cover a wide range of cutting-edge and compelling topics of intellectual property law and feature our popular IP Vanguard Awards event.
The Institute event is attended by members of both large and small leading California IP law firms, various in-house legal counsel, members of the judiciary, and academic professionals practicing in the areas of patents, trademarks, copyrights, litigation, trade secrets, international law, licensing, entertainment and sports law, technology law, social media, and privacy. The expected attendance is 200-250.
ABOUT US
The IP Law Section of the California Lawyers Association was originally organized as part of the State Bar of California in 1976 to further the knowledge of IP law and provide members with timely and informative seminars, conferences, networking opportunities, industry news, practice guides, and publications.

SPONSORSHIP LEVELS
Want to get involved with the IP Institute event? To be included as a sponsor of the 46th Annual IP Institute and benefit from exposure to active members of the CLA IP Law Section, please select one or more of the following options and contact us no later than September 16, 2022. The earlier you commit as a sponsor, the earlier we can begin including you in our promotional materials. Sponsorship requests are considered on a first-come, first-served basis; thus, we encourage you to respond as soon as possible. From there, you will be contacted by someone from the CLA or IP Law Section to provide digital files of your name or logo. Sponsorship opportunities are detailed below.
$6,000 – IP INSTITUTE GOLD SPONSOR
- Limited to three (3) law firms, and three (3) non-law firm entities (such as corporations, businesses, or vendors).
- Sponsor badge ribbons for all in-person attendees from the sponsor’s firm or company.
- Opportunity to distribute marketing materials and/or gifts to Institute in-person attendees as part of registration materials.
- Sponsor recognition as Gold Sponsor during the Institute.
- Gold Sponsor level recognition on IP Law Section website, including logo.
- Gold Sponsor level recognition in print, electronic marketing, and social media posts.

$2,500 – IP INSTITUTE THURSDAY WELCOME RECEPTION SPONSOR
The IP Institute will host a welcome reception at the outdoor patio of the Laguna Cliffs Hotel, overlooking the beautiful marina. This is a great networking opportunity for our in-person attendees. Refreshments will be provided.

The IP Institute will charter a boat to sail around the marina, with wine and other refreshments available. This is a relaxing, networking event that allows our in-person attendees to “let their hair down” and enjoy the beautiful views of Dana Point.

- Recognition as Friday Evening Social Sponsor during the reception by IP Law Section leadership.

- Limited to one (1) law firm or non-law firm entity (such as corporations, businesses, or vendors).
- Must be selected as an option in addition to one of the Bronze, Silver, or Gold Sponsorship Levels.
- Opportunity to perform 45 minute promotional product demo in a classroom setting. This opportunity is not eligible for MCLE.
$2,000 – IP INSTITUTE BREAKFAST SPONSOR
Start the day off right for attendees by hosting one of the two morning breakfasts. Branded signage and gifts or literature are displayed prominently at buffet tables and throughout the room. This sponsorship also includes company attribution in all schedules and programs.
