Volunteer Opportunities

Would you like to get involved with State Bar of California committees or with the Judicial Counsel’s Advisory Body? There are currently a wide variety of volunteer opportunities for qualified applicants, as follows:

• State Bar of California: The State Bar of California relies on volunteers to serve on the Board of Trustees of the State Bar, State Bar committees, and external entities. For the 2020-2021 committee year, there are vacancies on the California Board of Legal Specialization, the Client Security Fund Commission, the Committee on Professional Responsibility and Conduct, the Council on Access and Fairness, the 2021 Commission on Judicial Nominees Evaluation, and the Legal Services Trust Fund Commission. More information about each of these committees is available on the State Bar website, and the application form is available here. The application deadline is March 13, 2020.

• Judicial Council Advisory Body: The Executive and Planning Committee of the Judicial Council of California is soliciting nominations to fill vacancies on the Judicial Council advisory bodies. Additional information regarding these vacancies is available here, and the nomination form can be completed online. The application deadline is April 3, 2020.
