CLF’s California Legal Pathways Collaborative to Presenta First-Time California Law Academy Symposium Awards& Scholarship Reception on September 21

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (August 26, 2024) – A program of the California Lawyers Foundation (CLF), the California Legal Pathways Collaborative (CLPC) is proud to present a California Law Academy Symposium Awards & Scholarship Reception on Saturday, September 21, 2024. The day-long special event will take place at UC Law in San Francisco (198 McAllister Street) from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.  A newly created program of CLF, a 501(c)(3) and the non-profit arm of the California Lawyers Association, CLPC is a diversity pipeline project that focuses on expanding resources for the high school law academies and furthering diversity, education, and accessibility in the legal profession. 

Designed for law academy teachers, advisory boards, administrators, and volunteers, the program will include insightful keynote presentations by the Honorable Martin Jenkins of the California Supreme Court and Anna Mercado Clark, President of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association. Following the inspiring keynote presentations, two special sessions will include focus on Law Academy Teaching Teams presented by Street Law Training Staff on classroom presentation, techniques, and curriculum content, plus an Advisory Boards, Administrators & Volunteers session highlighting best practices, how to create dynamic and engaged advisory boards, the importance of partnerships and collaborations, and more. After the content-rich sessions, participants can enjoy a reception and celebratory awards presentation to close out the day.  

“This first-time symposium and celebratory event is a dream come true for me,” said Ruthe Ashley, Chair of the California Lawyer Foundation’s CLPC program. “The California Legal Pathways Collaborative extends an effort first launched in 2010 to introduce diverse students to law and law-related careers. The alignment with CLF has taken the initiative to entirely new heights and we are all thrilled to share new possibilities plus showcase the success of our collective efforts.”
