California Lawyers Association Announces New Officers and Members to Serve on Board of Representatives

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (September 11, 2024): California Lawyers Association (CLA) is proud to announce new officers and members to the Board of Representatives, all of whom began their new roles following the CLA Annual Meeting and Leadership Conference. As the voluntary bar association for California attorneys, CLA is a member-driven organization dedicated to the professional advancement of attorneys practicing in the state.

Some of the nation’s most prominent attorneys, CLA’s Board officers and members, bring a diverse wealth of knowledge and experience to positively impact the organization. While CLA Board President Betty Williams and Vice President Sabrina Green will continue serving their terms, the new Board officers and members include the following:

New CLA Board Officers

  • Terrance Evans – Chair, Partner & Co-Leader of the Banking & Financial Services Practice at Duane Morris LLP
  • Ireneo Reus – Vice Chair, Managing Attorney for The Reus Law Firm
  • Jessi Fierro – Treasurer, Senior Attorney for California Air Resources Board
  • Anthony Lai – Secretary, Senior Associate Attorney, Feinberg Mindel Brandt & Klein, LLP (serving second term)

New CLA Board Members

  • Elizabeth Blair – Real Property Law Section, Attorney/Owner at Blair Law
  • Myriam Bouaziz – Taxation Section, Chief Deputy Director at the Office of Tax Appeals
  • Harumi Hata – International Law and Immigration Section, Shareholder at Buchalter
  • Megan McClurg – Public Law Section, Assistant City Attorney with the Chula Vista City Attorney’s Office
  • Ciaran O’Sullivan – Trusts and Estates Section, Civil Litigation Attorney for The Law Office of Ciaran O’Sullivan

A number of current board officers and members will be departing the Board of Representatives after the September 2024 Annual Meeting, including: Tara Burd (Board Chair & Real Property Law Section); Phil Toomey (Public Law); Mike Shaikh (Taxation Section); and Ellen McKissock (Trusts and Estates Section).

“First, we extend our sincere gratitude to the departing board members whose contributions to the governance of CLA was significant and will be felt for years to come,” said Betty Williams, CLA Board President who was elected in 2023. “We also look forward to working with our dedicated new Board as they help to lead our organization by sharing their unique perspectives, expertise, and commitment to strengthening the legal profession in California and beyond.”

In addition to the officers, 14 members serve on the Board to guide the association’s leadership in policy advocacy, professional development, diversity initiatives, operational excellence, and news and insights.
