Agribusiness Committee Hosts Water Tour

The Agribusiness Committee of the California Lawyers Association Business Law Section will continue its 2019 Agriculture Tour series with a tour of  the San Luis Joint-Use Complex located at 31770 Gonzaga Road in Gustine, CA. The Joint-Use Complex serves the State Water Project and the Central Valley Project and includes O’Neill Dam and Forebay, Sisk Dam, San Luis Reservoir, Gianelli Pumping-Generating Plant, Dos Amigos Pumping Plant, and a 103-mile portion of the California Aqueduct. The program is a unique opportunity for practitioners to go behind the scenes at this facility, built by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and operated by the California Department of Water Resources.

After touring facilities, participants will meet at the San Luis & Delta-Mendota Water Authority’s Office located at 842 Sixth Street, Los Banos for lunch and to hear speakers discuss the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act and subsidence impacts in the Delta-Mendota Subbasin. Speakers will include: Andrew Garcia, Senior Civil Engineer for the San Luis & Delta-Mendota Water Authority, Lauren D. Layne of Baker Manock & Jensen, and Jarrett Martin of Central California Irrigation District. The tour will conclude around 2:00 p.m.

MCLE: This activity has been approved for Minimum Continuing Legal Education credit by the State Bar of California in the amount of 3.0 hours. Baker Manock & Jensen certifies that this activity conforms to the standards for approved educational activities prescribed by the rules and regulations of the State Bar of California governing minimum continuing legal education.

COST: $25.00 per person. Cost is all-inclusive – tour, lunch, and MCLE credit.
