Surf’s Up… and CLA’s Litigation Section is Cleaning Up!
California Lawyers Association’s (CLA) Litigation Section is partnering with the Surfrider Foundation San Diego to help clean up Ocean Beach near the city’s downtown area on Saturday, June 7, 2025. The cleanup along the coast will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and you’re invited to help in this meaningful morning. All of the equipment will be provided, including gloves, trash grabbers, and trash bags.
The Surfrider Foundation is dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world’s oceans, waves, and beaches for all people through an educational approach. Participants are asked to keep track of the litter they remove and report their findings. According to the Foundation, by joining a cleanup, “participants become aware of the impact of waste-related pollution, while actively removing litter.” Data collected by volunteers contributes to pollution research, “helping to influence future legislation and contributing to lasting protection of our coasts and oceans,” shares the Surfrider Foundation’s website.
CLA Litigation Section Secretary, Jenn French, coordinated the June event and encourages CLA members and their families to help. “We are excited to be part of this joint effort,” says French. “It may be an overcast, chilling morning, so keep an eye on the weather forecast.” She asks that when attorneys register, to please note “CLA Litigation” on the registration form where it asks for the company/group name.
To attend, each person must register individually. Please make sure to select “June 7th” from the website’s “Additional Times” drop-down menu. Additional guests can be added, for anyone wanting to include family members or friends. To register, visit: here.
