Message From CLF President Jeremy Evans

Fairways to Justice

On April 17, 2025, the California Lawyers Foundation (CLF) hosted its inaugural “Fairways to Justice” charity golf tournament at the picturesque Pelican Hill Golf Club in Newport Coast, California. The event brought together legal professionals, students, and community leaders to support the California Legal Pathways Collaborative (CLPC), which aims to mentor and guide high school and college students toward legal careers and provide scholarships for their legal education.

The tournament featured an 18-hole shotgun scramble, complemented by contests like Hole-in-One, Longest Drive, and Closest to the Pin. Participants enjoyed on-course refreshments and concluded the day with a lively 19th Hole After-Party .

Jeremy M. Evans, CLF President and event co-organizer, expressed gratitude to attendees, including students, lawyers, judges, staff and sponsors. He highlighted the presence of Newport Beach Mayor Joe Stapleton and sports agent and philanthropist Leigh Steinberg, who contributed their time and insights.

Proceeds from the event will fund scholarships for students interested in pursuing law.  The tournament event also provides mentoring for students from high school, college, law school, and young lawyers.

The success of this inaugural tournament sets a promising precedent for future CLF initiatives aimed at promoting access to justice and supporting aspiring legal professionals.

Please support the California Lawyers Foundation and the next generation here!

Thank you to our “Fairways to Justice” sponsors:
