The California Lawyers Association will re-launch the Solo & Small Firm Summit to provide several days of sought-after educational programs designed to address the needs of legal professionals who work in a solo or small firm practice — from business management and technology to substantive law updates in areas commonly practiced in a solo or small firm setting. The Summit agenda also will include networking events, and a vendor showcase with products and services unique to the solo or small firm practitioner. Read more

The Family Law Section has had an incredibly productive start to 2019. At our first meeting in San Jose, we developed and planned our Access to Justice program. FLEXCOM was inspired by the message of Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye at the 2018 California Lawyers Association Annual Meeting, in which she emphasized the role of the sections in providing access to justice. At the California Lawyers Association, we are very proud of our volunteer leaders. When you add up all the board members, section chairs, section executive committee members and committee members, we are about 600 strong. The American Bar Association (ABA), after a vote at its midyear meeting in Las Vegas, has granted California Lawyers Association (CLA) five seats in ABA's House of Delegates, to be implemented as soon as August of this year. Read more
