Antitrust, UCL and Privacy

Standing Committees

The standing committees are part of the Antitrust, UCL and Privacy Section of the California Lawyers Association. They are dedicated to the Antitrust, UCL and Privacy Section’s mission, which is to further the knowledge of members about antitrust, unfair competition, trade regulation, and privacy issues under state, federal, and international laws. A description of each standing committee is as follows.

Antitrust & UCL Standing Committees

Antitrust & UCL Education Committee

The Antitrust & UCL Education Committee organizes regular in-person events and online webinars throughout the year regarding antitrust and UCL issues, including Minimum Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) programs, hot topics panels, career panels, “Celebrating Women in Competition Law in California,” and “Interview with the Antitrust Lawyer of the Year,” among other programs, at low cost or no cost for Antitrust, UCL and Privacy Section members.

Antitrust & UCL Publications Committee

The Antitrust & UCL Publications Committee regularly publishes two publications: the periodic journal Competition and the monthly eBrief. Competition is a traditional law journal containing scholarly and practice-oriented articles. One or more issues of Competition are published each year as an annual volume. The eBrief is a monthly electronic publication comprised of practice-oriented case briefs and updates on notable recent developments.

Antitrust & UCL Treatise Committee

The Antitrust & UCL Treatise Committee publishes yearly updates of the California State Antitrust and Unfair Competition Law treatise. This master treatise comprehensively documents and describes this area of law, which presents a broad and rich palette for practitioners and regulators. Each year, seasoned practitioners of differing perspectives are engaged to update new developments in this area of law. A team of peer reviewers also drawn from the ranks of California’s leading practitioners are tasked with the review of the yearly updates. This treatise is published in paper with Matthew Bender (LexisNexis) and online with both Matthew Bender and Westlaw.
