Automation technology, driven by recent advancements in artificial intelligence and made accessible through user-friendly platforms like Gavel, has ushered in a transformative era for legal practitioners. This technology represents a pivotal moment in the evolution of the legal profession, akin to the paradigm shifts that occurred when discovery went electronic, and research moved online.
By allowing lawyers to significantly expand the reach of their legal expertise to serve a broader market while simultaneously boosting revenue and profitability, automation is poised to become the primary driving force shaping how the next generation of legal professionals’ practice. Automation technology allows lawyers to broaden their reach in two ways. First, it enables attorneys to embed their expertise into tailored, scalable products delivered directly to clients online. In essence, it empowers any attorney to become a software developer, much like how Apple made it possible for everyone to take professional photos.
