A Note from the Cannabis Law Symposium Co-Chair
Ashley Peterson
The CLA Real Property Law Section had big plans this year with its 39th Annual Spring Conference and Cannabis Law Symposium. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our section was unable to host this event in person this year. When I started brainstorming this event with Elizabeth Blair as planning committee co-chairs, we decided we wanted to try something new. In collaboration with several other CLA sections, we formulated the idea of hosting the Cannabis Law Symposium in conjunction with the Spring Conference. The Symposium was a single day track of MCLE programming focused on cannabis law topics. In working with other CLA sections, we came up with some amazing topics for panels, and many of the panelists were kind enough to agree to contribute to writing articles for our Real Property Journal. This issue focuses on cannabis law topics, and our committee is dedicating this issue to the amazing speakers who volunteered their time to put a panel together for this symposium that didn’t end up happening. We are hopeful that we may be able to host this event in 2021, so stay tuned.
