On January 1, 2018, the Sections of the State Bar became part of the California Lawyers Association (CLA). The CLA is a new nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting professional excellence and diversity among California attorneys. Although now part of a new organization, the Sections will continue to provide the same high quality, but affordable, educational programming and materials you have come to expect from them.
We have worked hard behind the scenes to make this transition as seamless as possible for you. For example, you likely renewed your Section membership recently by checking a box on your State Bar dues bill. That renewal process will not change with the Sections being part of the CLA, and your Section membership will continue to be listed as part of your State Bar profile.
