Letter from the Chair
ELIZABETH J. Rest Crown, LLP
Dear Section Member …
DURING MY TENURE ON THE Intellectual Property Law Section Executive Committee I have been privileged to serve as Chair of the Entertainment and Sports Law Interest Group, Chair of the always-popular IP in Entertainment and Media full-day conference, and Chair of the Section’s annual delegation to Washington, D.C. Additionally, I have attended numerous engaging educational webinars and in-person programs, and festive networking mixers. Becoming involved in the IP Law Section’s Executive Committee was initially a daunting task, but one that has proven rewarding both professional and personally beyond what I had ever imagined. My pride swells for the IP Law Section and the high-caliber educational programs and exceptional networking events that I have been involved with and attended over the past several years. It is therefore with great honor and humility that I assume my role as Chair of the Intellectual Property Law Section. I also wish to publicly thank our Immediate Past Chair, Deborah Greaves, for her outstanding leadership of the IP Law Section during the past year.
It is often the purpose of the first Letter from the new Chair to provide an overview of the Section’s educational and social activities to come. However, as Ms. Greaves has thoroughly reported in her past New Matter Letters, the State Bar is experiencing significant change that will have a substantial impact on the IP Law Section. As such, I take this opportunity with my inaugural Letter to update you on these important developments.
