Dear members of the Business Law Section (the "BLS") and readers of the Business Law News:
First, Happy New Year to all of you. I’d like to use this opportunity to highlight some of the BLS standing committees’ accomplishments since October’s State Bar Annual Meeting. Education has been at the top of our agenda through the Fall and Winter.
The BLS was a proud sponsor of two major public events. In October, the Cyberspace Law Committee held its highly respected privacy and data breach symposium at the UCLA School of Law, in conjunction with the Lowell Milken Institute for Business Law and Policy. In December, the Corporations Law Committee co-produced a full-day Institute for Corporate Counsel at the California Club in downtown Los Angeles, in conjunction with the USC Gould School of Law.
