Labor and Employment Law
Message from the Chair – Christina Ro-Connolly

Dear Members of the Labor and Employment Section,
As we find ourselves at the intersection of change and challenge, I am reminded of the resilience that defines our legal community. Recent executive orders and actions targeting the legal community have stirred concerns and uncertainties. However, it is in these very moments that our commitment to justice, equity, and the rule of law shines brightest.
Throughout history, the legal profession has a pillar in times of adversity. Our strength lies not only in our knowledge of the law but in our collective resolve to uphold its principles. As members of the CLA Labor and Employment Section, we are uniquely positioned to lead with purpose and to advocate for the rights of those we serve.
We are presented with an opportunity for us to come together and reaffirm our dedication to the core values that guide our profession. We must double down on our efforts to protect the integrity of our legal system and to support one another through the trials ahead.
Education and advocacy are the cornerstones of our response. By staying informed and engaged, we empower ourselves and our clients to navigate these turbulent waters with confidence. Let’s leverage our collective expertise to provide clear, accurate, and timely guidance, ensuring that our communities remain well-equipped to face the evolving legal landscape.
In times of uncertainty, collaboration becomes our most valuable asset. By fostering a culture of open dialogue and mutual support, we can build a resilient network capable of withstanding external pressures. Our section is home to a diverse array of talents and perspectives—let’s harness this diversity to innovate and to find creative solutions to the challenges before us.
While the path forward may seem daunting, let us not lose sight of the progress we have made and the potential that lies ahead. Each challenge we overcome strengthens our resolve and brings us closer to a more just and equitable society. Together, we will navigate these uncertain times with courage and optimism, lighting the way for future generations of legal professionals.
