Letter from the Chair
Dear Navigators of Nuance,
As we settle into not-quite-winter, not-quite-spring, remind yourselves that flowers are just around the corner.
Meanwhile, as the first official day of spring in the Northern Hemisphere this year is March 20th, clear your schedules that weekend for some tulip-season tomfoolery: talk to people (in person), clink glasses at a cocktail hour, go on an adventure (outside), re-learn eye contact, and brush off your best water cooler gems, all of which can be done at the Section’s 49th IP Institute. In addition to the opportunity to soak up rivers of wisdom bestowed by eclectic luminaries, you may also get the chance to meet this year’s Vanguard Award winners: Thomas Onda (in-house counsel), Jacqueline Charlesworth (private practice), Professor Jeffrey Lefstin (academic), and our honored Larry Maxham award winner—the inimitable Neil Smith. We can’t wait to see you there.
Until that time, aside from our monthly Interest Group calls, we have two excellent webinars to quench your thirst: on March 6th from 12-1 pm Michelle Galloway and Darya Laufer will allow you to collect one hour of civility credit for attending Digital Incivility: The “Bits and Bytes” of Uncivil Communications (which will explore how technology impacts professional conduct in communication), and on March 9th from 12-1 pm our in house IG will give you a shot at an ethics credit with When Corporate Constituents Disagree (exploring various conflicts of interest that arise in the representation of corporate clients).
Note that you can also grab your CLE hours by reading online articles from New Matter and taking short quizzes: Self-Study CLE.
Keep your hearts warm,
Leaf
