Among other things, the presentation will address patent infringement liability and security risks, including: (1) an understanding of open source software, patents, and mitigating patent litigation risks; and (2) an understanding of the security risks from use of open source components, privacy rights, and challenges of managing security risks.

Maria Čulić Anderson joined the firm as a partner in the Seattle office in January 2008. Maria has extensive experience in comprehensive, strategic client counseling in all aspects of intellectual property. She has been very active in the procurement of patent assets in the computer science and ecommerce fields since 1993, and thus, is a thought leader in the intellectual property field with respect to patent subject matter eligibility.
